Ain Musa (Spring of Moses) According to tradition Ain Musa, or Moses spring, is the
place where Moses struck a rock with a branch, causing water to flow out and slake the
thirst of the Israelites (Numbers 20:11): "And Moses raised his hand and struck the
rock twice with the branch; water gushed in abundance, and the community drank and their
cattle too." There are two possible locations for this springone near Mount
Nebo, and the other near Petra. |
